Today's Gospel.

Where do James and John miss the point?  [enter: Action of moving arms not meeting; action of hand moving over the head.]  Unfortunately this is where we often find ourselves after God moves, moving always on our behalf.   The Lord plainly gives them the game plan.  He says He will suffer, die and rise; the paschal pattern.   Then the brothers of thunder TELL not even ask, Lord do for us whatever we say.  Ummm...have they been with Him all this time?   This is where we too often relate.   Nice they want to be in His Kingdom, but seated next to Him in authority, in greatness???   Missing the mark.   Sin of Ego: pride.

It shall not be so among you.

Lord, help us not to miss the mark but to truly abide in You.
