Treatment

 Those who listen to the voice of the Lord and abide by it are not always treated well.   We can have consolation in this.  We look to those who have gone before us and read in the Word this situation.   Even Teresa of Avila is noted as saying tongue and cheek with the Lord, "no wonder You have so few friends." I love this intimacy.  Why do we keep speaking the truth if we get harassed?   Simply because it is not about us.   Feels a little like being a super hero.  Called to go in, save the day, and get punishment that is not just, get misunderstood by many.  All this for the sake of His glory.  Sounds sad and sick.  Actually the paradox lies in the fact that God is the reward.  He grants glimpses of heaven and the firmness of His love, courage and Truth.   There is no other way to live.  This is liberation.   This is freedom.   Grateful.  Peace.
